Well lately the site has become the middle child of my life but there’s some news worth reporting. The Sunset shots are in from September… thank you Bubblepix for the suggestion.

I think it’s a no-brainer that October’s project should be … October! There’s a lot going on in October with Halloween, the leaves… ok that’s all I can think of but 2 is more than 1!!!

I’ve also decided to keep a rolling 2 months of the pics on the site.  For reasons I won’t get into having the subfolders is a beyotch to maintain so for now… that’ll be the breaks.

In the spirit of taking requests… October’s Project will be … Sunsets.

Bubblepix requested this in exchange for submitting a self portrait so I figured it was a fair deal. I think I have ideas for the next couple months (the holidays are no-brainers) but maybe we’ll switch it up and add a 2nd idea or do one every 2 weeks. Any opinions? I’d like to do something extremely vague / abstract coming up so… the hamster is running in its wheel.

This can only mean ONE THING!  We’re moving on to August and need some new ideas!!

I’ve had a few ideas during July of other cool projects to do but the one I keep coming back to is self portraits (don’t cringe).  Since I’ve made this site I’ve wanted to come up with a logo that had my face incorporated into it so I bounced the idea off of a few posters and they were in.  So… that will be August’s Project.  I’m sure everyone is a BIT shy in doing this one (myself included) but that’s what makes us photographers… finding artistic ways to shoot pics.

As always … when submitting a pic please email it to projects@wheresmymind.net and include any relevant info that you’d like posted with your pic.

I thought I’d start providing Monthly Projects if any of my oh-so-loyal visitors would like to participate by submitting pics.  Hopefully it’ll spur some creativity and help develop our photographic eyes.  Any submitted pics I’ll post in the Photopages… pages… at the end of the month for review.

I’ll post a different topic or guideline to use in the Project early each month and then post the pics at the end of the month.

If you’d like to submit a picture please email it in .jpg format to projects@wheresmymind.net.  Feel free to include the following info:

• Name
• Name to be displayed with pic (if you’d prefer a screen name… this one’s for you)
• Camera equipment / settings
• Social Security # / Bank Account #  …. jk

All pics will be resized to make them web-friendly.

This month’s Project will be … Kitchen Pics.  I wanted to start off easy (as opposed to the Trivia Questions… ahem) and will get more creative as the level of interest warrants.  If you have suggestions feel free to email them.  My recommendation would be to set yourself a number of pics (50 – 100… yup…  I said it) and just snap away.  That many pics will force you to look for creative subjects and angles than if you only took 2 or 3.
